GuayaDeQue: Future Best Music Player for Ubuntu

Post by BIT0122-Amit on Tue Aug 31, 2010 11:41 pm

In ubuntu 10.10, the long used Rhythmbox is going to be replaced by GuayaDeQue. It is developed for Linux with wxWidgets for GTK under Gnome.

So, what makes it different?

-Very very lite(installer debian is around 2 MB).

-Can play almost any thing.

-Includes almost any feature you are looking for.

-Has labels feature.

-Can download cover art, lyrics automatically.

-Written in C , which means it is faster.

And lots more.

What impressed me most is that.. the sound quality it produces. It is somewhat different, yet very beautiful.

How do I install GuayadeQue?

You need to add the ppa first. The ppa page is here

But I am giving you the instructions here anyway.

open terminal and write:

Code:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:anonbeat/guayadeque

then you need to update the software sources list:

Code:
sudo apt-get update

Now you can install either GuayadeQue

Code:
sudo apt-get install guayadeque

or GuayaDeQue-SVN

Code:
sudo apt-get install guayadeque-svn

The difference is svn is the sub version which includes the latest features. But it might also be buggy.

I am currently using the svn and I am very, very satisfied with it ^_^
