Java 7

you have noticed probably, Sun after being acquired by Oracle has been going through some drastic changes.
We have seen the releasing of jdk1.6.0_18 to jdk1.6.0_21 in just 6 months probably.

And guess what? they are now preparing the release of JDK 7!
This new version supports modularization. It means, you can download seperate modules of java part by part as necessary and use them. No downloading of the full package is required.
Also, a new garbage collecting approach makes it even faster and more efficient.

the new JDK 7 features include:

1. JAX-WS - Java API for XML web services (yeah, that's the plug-in eclipseEE-helios is getting slow for)
2. Grabage first (G1) a new garbage collecting technology
3. Virtual machine support for non java languages
4. Even better modular approach
5. Better unicode support

you can get the details from here
