Play Assault Cube(First person shooter game) in UBUNTU

just go to this link
download the game for linux. it is about 40MB.
it is an archive file. extract it into a folder. you will find a shell file named assault cube. double click on that file and click run. now, enjoy the game.

the game may not open. for that type the command below in a terminal.
sudo apt-get install libopenal-dev

this game is available for windows too. you will find the link at the same link above.

this game can be played on lan. server setup is the same as windows.

I can't open this. I installed the openAl library as instructed.
then I double clicked on assaultcube.sh, and then clicked on run, run in terminal. none worked.
Any suggestion?


EDIT:
actually, only installing openAL library ain't going to work.

Try this command in terminal.

sudo apt-get install libopenal1 libsdl1.2debian libsdl1.2debian-pulseaudio libsdl-image1.2

it will install

* libSDL 1.2
* libSDL_image
* OpenAL

And now, try opening the file assaultcube.sh and try to play, it should work.

i think i installed those before.......

I have one problem though.
My ubuntu apparently freezes when I try to quit AssaultCube

i am facing absolutely no problem playing the game.......

maybe changing the default settings caused this problem..
