First of all, there are two types of LAF(Look and Feel). One is available in Java by default, the other is.. you need to collect it from elsewhere.

Now, which one are you talking about?

You see, the way of adding these LAF is a bit different in these two cases.

For internal ones, you can check this:

http://download.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/uiswing/lookandfeel/plaf.html

For external ones, the method may vary depending on the external one. However, all of them contains one common part. Adding a user library.
