Resize your image: from right click menu!!!
My brother wanted to upload some photos on facebook, but the photos he had was too large, so he told me to resize them to a smaller size. My immediate thought was gimp but I wanted something more flexible, specially something that can resize multiple photos with a single command.
This morning I googled for a such tool and found an unbelievable solution, resize (also rotate) multiple images from right click menu!!! The tool is nautilus image converter. As you can see the name, it is integrated with nautilus (the file browser).
The link I gave above describes everything in detail with screen shots. I am just giving the basic instructions.
Install
You can use the synaptic package manager or software center.
For easier install open your terminal and enter:
The download size is less than 100 kB, so nothing to worry.
Make ready to use
You need to restart nautilus.
Do it manually or from command
Use
Right click on a (or more) photo... Watch the magic yourself.
Enjoy...

Nice one.BTW, there is also a command line image facility suite available in Ubuntu by default, called ImageMagick.
This package includes lots of commands, including adding texts, and resizing.
You can simply write
- Code:
convert image_you_want_to_resize -resize AxY new_resized_image_name
But still, doing it directly in gui is interesting

@Amit
I know about image magick... But my purpose was resizing multiple images... Also, editing a visual thing like image from command line is not very easy thing... But for sure all other ui image editors use image magick in the backend.
@Rock:
Thats of course excellent. But I have no intension to edit 5MB pictures online!!!

I agree with the backend theory you suggested.
